  • ink thickness

    Hi Everyone,

I'm reading up on screen mesh, and I'm wondering how you can tell if you're working with a thin or thick ink? Does it go generally according to brand, or is it more specific than that?

    Thanks.

You can generally tell when you take the lid off and start to stir it. All inks have some level of resistance when stirred.

What you are primarily looking at is whether or not the ink cuts short or is long and stringy when you take a scoop out of the bucket.

Short will typically print easier, where long and stringy needs to be warmed up to the mid 80's or higher to see optimal print performance.
