Mutli color struggle

Hey everyone,
I am a fairly new screen printer. I am trying to do a multi color shirt (water-based ink). Whenever I print the first color, and pick up the screen, the shirt sticks to the screen for a second, and when it releases it has stretched out the print, and then no matter what I do I can't get the next layers to line up. Any advice?

Hi Emma!

Are you using any spray glue or waterbased glue to adhere the shirt to the platen?
